In short

Stedding is a free, open-source desktop browser built on Chromium. It keeps tabs in a sidebar and adds Spaces, pinned tabs that remember their page, folders, split view and a command bar. On a Mac it imports an Arc setup in one step: Spaces, Favorites, pinned tabs, folders, history and passwords. It has no telemetry, asks for no account, runs Chrome extensions, and carries no AI features, by design.

The Browser Company has said Arc will be sunset on December 22, 2026. Stedding is for people who want to keep working that way in a browser whose code is public: it is licensed BSD-3-Clause, and every release is built from a tagged commit in its GitHub repository.
